On June 20, 2021, this 16 oz. ceramic Lt. Uhura mug flew to the stratosphere onboard an Earth to Sky Calculus cosmic ray research balloon. At the apex of the flight, it floated 92,192 feet above the Sierra Nevada mountains of central California. After the balloon exploded (as planned), Uhura parachuted back to Earth, landing on Coyote Flats, a high plateau overlooking Bishop CA.
